The Chamber Music Hall (Kammermusiksaal)
The Chamber Music Hall finally was built between 1984 and 1987. The first sketches have been made by Hans Scharoun already in the 1960s which were the basis of the later plans for the building. The final design of the Chamber Music Hall was significantly influenced by Edgar Wisniewski, the assistant and later partner of Scharoun. Similar to the Philharmonie the Chamber Music Hall was designed from the inside-out starting with the central stage surrounded by blocks of seatings for the audience in a 360° range. The experimental use of a central stage for modern orchestras at the Philharmonie was consequently developed further in the Chamber Music Hall.
